New Self-Assessment Quiz for Volunteers

Public Legal Education and Information Service of New Brunswick (PLEIS-NB) has created a new tool for potential volunteers.  The Volunteer Self-Assessment Quiz looks at a person’s interests, skills and life experience to help determine what sorts of volunteer opportunities would be appropriate.

The quiz was developed as part of a larger project for senior volunteers.  The project also included 2 successful volunteer training days for seniors in Moncton and Saint John, which incorporated workshops and Volunteer Recruitment Fairs.  A PowerPoint presentation on Volunteers and the Law was also developed with project funding.  Project advisory committee members included volunteer centres and seniors’ organizations.

The New Horizons for Seniors Program provided funding for this project by way of the Community Participation and Leadership Fund.

The new quiz is currently being distributed to volunteer centres, seniors’ groups, non-profit organizations, libraries and other places where the public can access them.  If you are interested in obtaining copies, please contact us at pleisnb@web.ca or call 506-453-5369.
