30th Anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

PLEIS-NB is proud to honour the 30th anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  The Charter is a set of principles guaranteeing rights to Canadian citizens, and in some cases, to everyone in Canada.  The Charter is a part of the Constitution Act, 1982, which was signed by Queen Elizabeth II on April 17, 1982.  This gave Canada control over its Constitution.  The guarantee of rights and freedoms in the Charter became part of the supreme law of the land.
