Grandparents’ right of access to their grandchildren

A recent amendment to legislation increases the right of family members to have access to a child. Grandparents and other family members may now petition the courts for access to a child whether or not there is a custody order in place. Access may include visits, oral or written communication, or any other form of communication the court chooses. For more information, please see the Family Services Act.
